September Trunk Sale
July 1st, 2010Jazz Night – Saturday March 27th 7.30pm
March 1st, 2010The ever fabulous ‘Hot Club of Brazil’ with Carl Godell, and Margaret Stewart and the Bobby Schiff Trio will be returning to Westacres Clubhouse for an evening of jazz entertainment courtesy of the WWC and the 75th Anniversary Committee. Ticket prices are still only $15 in advance, or $20 at the door, and can be obtained from the Credit Union. Reserve a table with the purchase of 8-10 tickets, or first come, first seated on the night for individual ticket sales. Question? Call Joanie at 366-0556 or Ellen at 366-8598.
Easter Egg Hunt – March 28th (Residents Only)
March 1st, 2010On Sunday March 28th at 1.30pm the annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place in front of the clubhouse. Come meet the Easter Bunny and hunt for eggs (hopefully some of snow will have melted by then) in this annual event that is sponsored by the WWC. Please be prompt: those eggs are usually scooped up in a flash!
Rummage Sale April 16-17, Everyone Welcome
March 1st, 2010Westacres annual Rummage Sale will take place on Friday and Saturday 16-17th April from 8.30pm-5pm.
Please donate your unwanted, gently used clothes, furniture, toys…. to this worthwhile event. Drop off at the clubhouse will be available from Sunday April 11th; if you need us to pick up heavy or large items, please call Tammy Carter at 363-0292. Volunteers are needed (and always appreciated) to sort and sell rummage – call Tammy to volunteer your services!
Read In – March 19th – Residents Only
March 1st, 2010Camp Read In will take place on Friday March 19th between 6-8pm. You must RSVP to Lisa at 363-8179 to attend this event. Children of all ages who can sit still for a story are welcome to don their PJ’s and head down to the clubhouse for an evening of storytelling. Children who are not potty trained are also welcome, but a parent must remain with them for the duration of the event.
Read In is an event that usually takes place in March as this is reading month, and the celebration od Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The Westacres Womens Club is pleased to sponsor this event.
The Craft Fair is going to be Fabulous!
October 25th, 2009We are so excited about the event that we have to offer you this year. It really is going to be absolutely fabulous! Our indoor booth spaces will be filled with the most fantastic selection of homemade crafts. We have have so much to offer you that we couldn’t fit them all inside, so there will booths outside too! If you still haven’t sent us your vendor application, there is still time to apply for an outdoor space at a cost of only $32.50, but you need to send in your application right away. We are really looking forward to this years show, and we look forward to seeing you there!
WWC Greet In
October 21st, 2009Mark your diaries! The Greet In will be on Tuesday 3rd November at Jackie Brewer’s home. We invite all Westacres ladies to come and join us for drinks and snacks as we welcome new female residents to the neighborhood.
Craft Fair
September 14th, 2009The Craft Fair planning is coming along well, thanks to Pam Miller, our orgainizer this year. We are still accepting applications for all kinds of crafters, so if you have a favorite crafter, please encourage them to visit our events page and download an application. Our price for an 8′x8′ booth is only $75!
Welcome to the new WWC board
September 7th, 2009The new women’s club board held it’s first meeting last Thursday at Anita Lieberman’s house. Check out the women’s club page to see who your new and existing board members are this year. We still have one vacant position, so if you’d like to join us this year please come to our next meeting on Monday 21st September at 7pm at Jacquelyn’s house. Our meetings this year will be on the third Monday of each month.
