Greetings. I just found this and am full of nostalgia. Our family moved in to 7608 Sweetbriar Rd. on my fourth birthday in 1939. I lived there until I went off to college, and was married to Dick Saunders who became asssociate editor of the Oakland Press.

Tommy Dodd (also a Sweetbriar kid) tells me that there is no evidence of a celebration of Westacres’ 75th birthday!! I live in New Orleans now, but Tom is there in Michigan. I will let him know I found this, and I’ll just bet he will be in touch.

Much love to all and to the acreage around you. I was delighted to read about the tomato canning. I peeled many summers’ of Westacres canning tomatoes so I could spend the rest of the day at the beach.
