January 28th, 2010Chili, sledding, ice skating… all the things that help make Michigan winters bearable (or less unbearable) can be found at the Westacres Winterfest! The Women’s club would really like someone to chair this event, but we’ll consider any sort of help as we work to provide you with an afternoon of snow-filled fun. Annual Meeting
January 28th, 2010Dinner is at 6pm, Meeting starts at 7pm.
There are 3 vacant positions on the board to fill this year. Please consider making this the year that you (re)join the board: we really can’t do it without you! January 28th, 2010Please come – it’s your best chance to find out what’s going on and have your say about our community. $5 dinner will include lasagna, salad, french roll and coffee/tea/water. Feel free to bring anything else that you’d like to drink yourself. Desserts will courtesy of the Middle Section, and will no doubt be scrummy!
Your block chair will be calling you to ask if you will be joining us for dinner (and to remind Middle Sectioners to get baking).

Winterfest
January 10th, 2010Winterfest is traditionally the time for us to get together after the holidays for a spot of skating, sledding and chili tasting. This event is sponsored by the Women’s Club, but we really do need help to ensure that this event is a success. If you have a few hours to spare one weekend before the snow melts, please call Erin Connelly at 363-0859 to see how you can help us with this event.
WCA & WWC Meetings
January 10th, 2010Westacres Main Board meeting is Monday 11th at 7pm in the clubhouse. All residents are welcome at these meetings; if you have a matter to discuss please arrive in time for the public forum at 7pm.
Westacres Women’s Club meeting is on Monday 18th January between 7-9pm at Jacquelyn Saltzgaber’s home. All Westacres women are automatically members of the WWC, and we are always glad to see you at our meetings.
Annual Meeting
January 10th, 2010Saturday 6th February is the date of the Westacres Annual Meeting. Please come along to find out about and discuss issues vital to our community. Meetings always seem more fun after a bite to eat and a refreshing drinkie so we are hoping to offer our usual fabulous pre-meeting dinner again this year, although we are still awaiting a volunteer to chair this part of the evening. It’s not a difficult job, and we can offer you plenty of help, so if you live in the Middle section (North Elder to 3273, all of Middle Elder, South Elder to 3593, Buckthorn 7303 & west, Arrowwood 7400 & west, East Honeysuckle, East Sweetbriar and the east side of Westacres Drive) please call Laurie Onopa (social chair) for more info (248) 360-9080.
Neighborhood Watch Meeting – Thu 28th Jan
January 10th, 2010West Bloomfield Police will be at the Clubhouse to discuss the new Neighborhood Watch program on Tuesday 28th January. This program also includes Lakewoods and Whispering woods subdivisions. We are still awaiting confirmation of a time for this meeting, but queries can be made to either Jay Wright (248) 363-2102 or Jo Jensen (248) 363-7103.
